Ok ~ rec'd my Unit 1 review back.
Shutter speed to express motion:
Basically I was told that I had technically hit the mark on all three...but...details....
Osprey Nest:  would have preferred a tighter crop removing the bottom section up to the nest...taking a little off the top and a little off the right side.  I'm going to try that....although I'm thinking would render too soft going in that tight.
Horse running:  suggested that I try to capture items like this keeping the background in mind. Felt that I'd done well capturing a moving object that doesn't follow one specific path - but the buildings and the light poles in the background created too many distractions.
RedCreek Falls:  appreciated the two different captures with my details about how I differed their representation of the falls.  Suggested that I move over and down a little to get a better perspective....would love too...but what he didn't know was that this was taken from the only area available to shoot.  Small overlook is open to viewing - the balance has been fenced off and is off limits.  So I do totally understand his suggestions...on this set of waterfalls...not available to do.

Shallow DOF (depth of field) to accent your subject:
Parrot:  liked this shot.  Again, told me that the technical side was "perfect".  Thought a crop that included his full tail would have been better (which I included the original with the full tail - but this was my submission pc Ü).  That was his only comment.

Deep DOF to show distance:
Oswego Lighthouse:  Again, told me that I'd technically nailed the subject.  This seemed to be his favorite of the photos.  Thought that a crop of the bottom to get rid of the tangle of grapevines would be a stronger image - and I def. see his point - leaving the tops of the ornamental grasses but getting rid of the distraction of the vines.

Onward to Unit 2!!!

The following three photos were edited after receiving the review.  All originals are in the blog post directly below.
