Ok - Black longhorn steer...glossy pale horns...bright mid-day sun.

Spent a lovely morning with coffee and a new friend. In her back yard was an old one-room "hut" that at one time housed a "hippy" couple and their child.
Nifty 50mm - f/5.6 @ 1/200 ISO 200 overcast morning Alarm went off this morning at 0545...out the door at 0600...stop at the gas station because I was on "e"...and then off to Sterling and the nearby orchard. I topped on of the hills and looked out to my left...the mist was lying in the hollows...still and quiet. Translated to b/w. I actually have another version that I transitioned...leaving a hint of color to the foreground. Opinions?
50mm f/5.6 @ 1/640 ISO200 Comments? Does this translate to black and white well? Would love comments!! Second attempt...tried to reduce the blow out in the whites...lost a little definition in the shadowed areas below but I like the better definition of the blossoms....
New Month New Theme ~ Monochrome (b/w)
Finally had a non-rain filled day yesterday. Took a detour on my way to the office along the Oswego River. I've never seen it looking so angry...some great white water...and a peaceful stroll. Here is my submission for Week 18 - hope you enjoy - comments as always - welcome ! Volunteered to work at Sterling Nature Center yesterday on trail maintenance...of course I had my camera over my shoulder and rigged behind me on my back.....as we progressed down the trail I'd snap a quick one here and there...White and Red Trillium, Trout Lillies, fading Spring Beauties, and Coltsfoot - that and the sound of the waves hitting the shore in the background...perfect day!
